Cold Water Boiler for cool drinks.

Computational Fluid Dynamics was used to determine the cooling time of a cold water boiler. In contrast to the situation were water is heated and stored for a long time, cooling will increase the density slightly, causing the water in the boiler to slowly sink. Within the software we can generate the average cooling curves in this cold water boiler, which provides insight into how fast this process goes.

Cold water boiler for fresh water

The aim was to simulate the cooling time in a compact boiler. The cooling capacity is modest and the insulation of the boiler is very good. Placing an electric peltier cooler in a boiler can cool the water. Cold water sinks due to its higher density, and causes mixing in the liquid, including through flow reversal. A limit was placed on the cooling time. The cooled liquid must be able to remain cold for a longer period of time, and the application is for consumption purposes.

Dynamic temperature behavior

– Flow data is used in a chain design. Influence of density differences became clear at different starting temperatures Results are achieved quickly and cost-effectively. Within the set frameworks, a design was realized that met the requirements of the customer. From a given starting situation, the dynamic behavior was analyzed until a homogeneous temperature was reached. The boiler was part of a system, and the data from this simulation was used to characterize the chain. This way, the cooling time was achieved within a certain time, and the compact boiler could be placed in the space intended for this purpose. In summary:
